PDF Tips

A PDF reader program is required to open and view PDF files. Adobe Acrobat Reader is the original and most common reader application. It can be downloaded for free at:

Opening PDFs in the Walden Library databases

Many of the articles in the databases are available in PDF Format. Look for links to PDF Full Text in your search results. These are often marked with an Adobe PDF icon like this:

Clicking on a link to PDF Full Text will automatically open the document in an Adobe Reader window. From here, it is easy to either save or print the PDF file.

To save a PDF:

At the top of the Adobe Reader page there will be a gray toolbar with a number of icons.

At the far left, there is a disk icon - click this to save the PDF to your computer.

To print a PDF:

Again, look at the toolbar at the top of the page.

At the far left, there is a printer icon - click this to print the PDF document.

Usually, clicking the print icon will open a window for your local printer, giving you a chance to adjust settings like number of pages or copies, orientation, etc. You will need to click the "Print" or "Ok" button in your printer window to complete the printing process.
